Hey Tanko, I second that one!  I watched it and liked it.  There could have been a better backstory for the main character but when he got down to business I almost felt sorry for the guy who had done the bad bad things.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button was a good one.  LONG but good.  It is about life and death and aging.

Traitor is a pretty good one.  It is the theme of terrorism in America.  Easy sell there.

TV series I enjoyed recently was Sleeper Cell.  2 seasons about ... terrorism!

Fringe...SUCKS!

Taken was out ages ago in the UK but it only got released recently in the US which is unusual. Yes its very good particularly when you comparing it to something like Quantum of Solace which I think was just plain dull.

I've not seen 3.10 to Yuma yet but its on my list, as is Ridley Scotts last film Body of Lies which also stars RCrowe.

310 was an awesome flick.  Body of Lies was pretty good too.

I love it how in films American government organizations are always portrayed the same way.  The guy on the ground operates morally while the guys further up the food chain are completely out of touch and evil.

Borne ID movies are like this.
This theme is almost everywhere if you think about it.

Grunts on the ground in war movies are always more honorable than their generals.

Where is Hannibal, the noble general?  Heck the most memorable general in movies must be George C. Scott as Patton.  He at least seemed real.

Going slightly off topic, I saw a documentary the other week on General Wilhelm Keitel (from the German WWII side). Without wishing to get dragged into politics or morality I found the whole subject quite moving.

Rodriguez 'to relaunch Predator'
Robert Rodriguez
Robert Rodriguez worked with Quentin Tarantino on Grindhouse

Sin City director Robert Rodriguez will relaunch the Predator science fiction horror franchise with a new movie, according to trade magazine Variety.

His script for Predators will bring back the cult alien hunter introduced in the 1987 original, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Variety said.

The director is also reported to be co-directing a film based on a character featured in his 2007 movie Grindhouse.

The knife-wielding ex-policeman Machete appeared in a mock trailer in the film.

The full-length feature will see Machete intent on revenge after being wronged by a corrupt senator, Variety said.

A Predator sequel, in 1990, was followed by the crossover Alien vs Predator film in 2004 and its 2007 follow-up, Alien vs Predator: Requiem.
