The worst plot in the matrix was the human killing earth like it... Human scorched the sky? Get real, if it's such a world wide operation with such a gigantic outcome at the worst possible case can't be reversed due to machines killing all the possibility to do so after they have done it, which is what happened, in reality, that's not the case to be taken by world wide decision... There's nothing left on the surface of the earth if the fight prolongs.
Animatrix was just a try by anime fanatics (including wachowskis) to make it look like one (but with a strong american touch). The stories are more or less average at best (they might look interesting because it's based on a decent film to start with), didn't even fill much of the matrix plots that were left behind from the originals. And I don't know how MMORPG version of Matrix filled in too, since I never played it.
And I doubt they had to fill in the missing stories after the first episode. We all knew, if it ended right there, the humans are on constant fights against machines in and out of the matrix and Neo will be doing the cool stuff inside. But, they wanted to fill in their wallet moreso than filling the story properly, it ended just like any other sequels where the 90% motivation is to become a bit more rich instead of 90% enthusiam and 10% fear of if it will succeed when sound movies come out. Same goes for software development too though. I mean MS...
Here's a little idea I have been having about what makes a game/movie interesting.
Back then, I mean in the 90's, despite the lack of modern visual effects, like SNES games, we still feel they were good even today, and I don't think it's because of our brain's 'good old days' syndrome, but lack of visual effects actually gave people a way to imagine their own world against what's been given, which means, everyone, more or less tries to like it in the way they want, rather than the whole environment being virtually presented by the content creators at clearest possible way without a way to bypass their intention. That also leads me to think, the ending of the first matrix felt good, but after directors tried to come up with the rest of the plot in some average manner, things felt more 'meh', because unlike our internal 'dream world' we imagined against the first film, it ended up being some non uber world.
It's not always a person's best interest to be given every detail to enjoy entertainments. But that doesn't mean, keep the plots in loose like the ending of the second matrix... That was just totally unprofessional. People went 'err? end? now? what? who is that on bed? er, k, its over, i see...' instead of 'wow, whats gonna be next geez, my eyes nearly popped.'
Hw2 is fun, because it doesn't present you how you are going to play it, you can suck or you can play ace at your will. But there's one thing I have been feeling about HW2 players. There are people who play to win the game and there are people who play to enjoy themselves with their own imaginitive way of playing to satisfy one's self, and the latter usually loses hard against the formers and are known not to improve much over the years because their interest is their own but not at a technical superiority. EvE is fun to some people, because it gives them their own way of enjoying, except for those who can't find how to make their own way of having fun, it's never fun (like me...) Hmm, that's why Free Cell is always better than any FPS games.
only one modern day director has still got the goods , M. Night Shyamalan , althouth they are usually slow movies i like most of his movies . his last being the happening .
in sigsn you barely see a signle alien but the way he tells the story is wow . Mel Gibson gets outacted by River's brother Joaquin Phoenix ( i really hope he starts acting , his role in "Walk the Line" was brilliant )

biggest plot hole i see in the matrix is where are the humans that the robots are using for batteries getting all their food from??
so there is no sunlight, so plants cant photosynthesise... so no food right? Atleast thats my understanding of the situation... anybody got ideas how they get fed? :s
Any civilization with the technical capabilities of the Matrix machine race will at the very least have cracked Nuclear Fusion, in which case why bother using human energy?

yup and to generate enough juice to keep all the robots going and keep a enormous matrix up is such a big job i really doubt they have enough human duracell bunnies .
lets say the uber intelligent machines do not know how to split an atom or do fision then there is always tidal power , windpower , geothermal , etc
in fact the last resort would be human power . and then again it would be much easier and safer to keep the humans in a coma then hook then up to a matrix .
final note if th human race ever lost this planet i think they d rahter nuke the planet then to fade into extinction . its just human nature to go out with a bang
For one, why do machines need humans, if they are good enough to feed from them like that, they could force some smart people to do labs and studies machines are still incapable of doing in some locked up place, instead of keeping a few in the real world down under and complaining to kill them or not. They can keep a few pack of human DNA and give them birth later if they feel the need for them.
And secondly the more subtle problem for the machines is that, while humans have virtual sex in Matrix (no im serious about this...) as much as they want, they need to sync that when they give a birth to a human inside matrix, that they need to actually make one pregrant in the real world, and from the actual sperm of the guy who virtually had her (with all tough calculations of who's sperm made it there if she had multiple tries...-_-) and physically give her that and transferring, by finding out who and who in the massive flock of human farms without killing the sperms on the long journey. But probably one of the tube is for that...
My long 'rambling' was in short, giving all the details will rather spoil an entertainment, you usually do not have much personality on the guy you play in FPS (like mr freeman), as if you are given the guy much personality and if you hate him, you might as well just throw the game feeling annoyed. People want freedom out of the entertainment instead of completely given by the creators, including the environment. Why do the FF4 characters feel pretty much live, when FF10 characters don't feel 10 times more live with 10 times better graphic with voice? Thus, imo, late games feel shit while visually pleasing. (Altho, it also means, devs are only pursuing for technical advantage instead of the joy like it used to be.)
Well, the first matrix was OK, the sacond I didn't see and the third one was,with kind words, BS. The flying around was simply too hard to watch at some points. My opinion is that they shouldn't continue a good saga until they really can make a good sequel that will at least border on the level of it's predecasor.
This was best demonstrated on Star Wars Episode 6, which was with it's outrageous stupidity a shock to me. It began good, and it continued well too, but just untill the last stage of the battle of Endor. There George must have lost all sense for logic, as seen by the end of the movie that I allways imagine didn't exist. The several dozen times stronger Imperial fleet loosing to a small Rebel fleet without the rebels using any sneaky tactics that would be surely needed for them to win. Then there was the Emperor's most elite legion loosing to a bunch of Teddybears, which even with the aid of the main characters and the element of surprise couldn't have won. And at last the ultimate brain kiling battle of Vader and Luke when Luke was so enraged that he couldn't have had a single trace of focus on the battle and the strikes (and focus means power) and he despite that simply became stronger and defeated Vader.
But luckily George Lucas redeemed himself with the new trilogy, which was finally a worthy sequel (or should I say prequel) to superb Episodes 4 and 5, especially with Episode 1 which I think is the best Star Wars episode ever. In fact it was my second most favourite movie second only to the epic masterpiece, Big Lebowski.
Just finished watching Code geass and Code geass R2 and they r Epic, the best series i have ever seen in my life, drama, action ( fast paced),twists every episode,mind shocking and so on, i highly recommend for everyone to watch it.

I so have to agree with you, I fucking loved every single minute of it!!
And the story ended at exactly the right moment.. I still can't believe it's finished.. oh the loss... it was almost unbearable at first... -_-
But I'm over it now and I can only highly HIGHLY recommend this series to anyone who's into anime's.

Well, in my opinion, Ep1 was the best, followed by Ep5 and Ep4, which were perfect too, but didn't have such a epic atmosphere at the degree of Ep1. Ep3 and Ep4 were good too, though they had some flaws. But at least they made sense. Something Ep6 didn't even remotely make
So in general I like all the Star Wars except for Ep6.
