I saw Rambo IV today, whilst a reasonable movie it is amazingly short in running time something close to 1h15m!
For anyone looking for the scariest TV series ever made I will give you a short clip. Not resorting to graphical violence the series created fear through the sets and good old fashioned story telling, unbelievably this series used to air around 7pm :
according to websites there should be another 10 epsiodes following but can't find any , plz do not tell me the ending we saw was the climax of 4 year watching what was sometimes more boring the a trip to the dentist ( no offense p5 )
I think the final 10 episodes of BSG season 4 are due out around Jan 2009, there is also talk of another TV movie like Razor.
For me I don't think season 4 has delivered, though the last episode that was aired certainly has some plot developments.
I find with BSG they keep getting side tracked by sub plots and character stories despite being deep into the story. You cant help think that they are just avoiding special effects costs.

thank the gods for that , the ending it has now was very twilight zone but such an anticlimax . don't get me wrong i like the plotdevelopement but even i as a religious guy are getting fed up with the religious mambo jambo . deep religious thoughts and sci fi mix like pron movies and dialogue .
Nice but NOT what we came here for .
i wish they had learned from babylon 5 . write and budget a series for 4 seasons and film all or nothing . budget cuts nerfed bsg , supernatural demonwar finale and the would be second series of jericho .
thats why i still prefer books or movies because i hate story where you never get to know the ending .
don't think i am gonna watch the bsg spin off unless it is drasticly different
Jumper - I guess for a real simple idea as 'jumping' around, this was quite a decent movie. I wish they would've gone a bit more detail on the physics and logics of 'jumping' but still, it may have been better without those strict 'logics' ruining the fun, instead showed just the fun part of being able to 'jump' around. (And funny thing being, Heiden going vs Samuel again =p at least he didn't chop his arms off this time.) The story somewhat ends without tieing the loose ends, which may be an intention for the directors if the movie succeeds for more than certain amount, they might want to go ahead and go make a few more of it. All in all, fun for a watch at least.
I Am Legend - Boy, this let me down loool... Saw it on ads, figured it was Will Smith... certainly hits me that this must be a good movie that I get to see once in a while. This expectation really got me down really, I'm not sure if there are other people who like it, but letting Will act for most of the whole thing wasn't the brightest idea when he wasn't that good at doing it this time. And there are bits of moments you just simply get frustrated at and then after being O_o for some while, movie simply ends.... GOD, but ok, Jumper was enjoyable in return...
Alien vs Predator 2 - Yeah yeah... crazy vs crazy, was kinda boring, but was ok, we all by now know where aliens come out from when they feed on people... so, that was repetitive. This was rather worse than first movie, because essentially this had no story, but some leftovers of aliens eat couple human and kill a few predator, and predator does same and... without any story moving much forward, it was over... Didn't excite me.
Let me know if I missed anything cool in the last 12 months. (I don't really watch TV shows)

Have a look at the film 'Felon', its a prison drama that came and went quite quickly on the cinema but got good reviews on IMDB... I've seen it and its pretty good.

Eagle vs Shark, very quirky romcom with Jermaine from Flight of the Conchords. I absolutely loved it as the awkward kinda humour appeals to me, so might not be everyones cup of tea. But if the missus every wants you to watch something romantic, pick this one and im sure you wont be as dissappointed as she would be :P
Sons of anarchy - apoc you HAVE to watch this
Fringe : csi meets x files
the big bng theory - revenge of the nerds the series
Terminator SCC - season 2 is better and still improving
life on mars US : exact same stoy but damn harvey leitel is kickass and it even has that bloke from the sopranos . interesting to see how the same stories unfolds in the US
Yeah Heroes is taking a nose dive. I don't know whether they just didn't know what to do or if they have a plan but it just stinks. To me the real problem is two fold. They give too many different powers. Why so many? Ok, I can see super strength and telepathy but flying! Radiation! Freezing! Dumbest of all eyes turn black and everyone around you dies! It really ruined it for everyone when they brought in characters no one gave a shit about. I guess that speaks to America where we don't like to read subtitles! The other thing is making a few people too powerful. Sylar and Peter were just too much and in season 3 their father is simply RETARDED!
If you want to watch it I'd say give it another season and then decide to get it all and watch it. Watching it weekly is just a waste of time.
The Border is a good one.
To be honest if shows dont get a good story line that works then they seem too Star Trekky where you just jump from ep to ep with no point. B5 had a good linear story for the most part, which I enjoyed. Unless you watch something sitcommy like Desperate Housevrouwen where story isn't that big of a deal things like Heroes will break your heart.
I recently bought and am enjoying the 90's TV series of Sherlock Holmes, its very well done and one of the great things about period drama's is they age well:
Not too long until BSG Season 4 starts up again, which reminds me I bumped into Jamie Bamber who plays Apollo a couple of weeks back, he was doing some autograph signings in my town. I only popped into the shopping centre for a haircut and there he was... along with some other stars from LotR, StarTrek and some other TV soaps.

Cloverfield... wow, that was fresh (and yet it feels dumb as well) Could be a go for once on a boring night. It felt like a real man's FPS lol, with dumb mission and trying to survive the odds. (And I bet the guys who made this like half life 2 )
The whole movie is shot with a camera on a real person's hand, which means, it's real shaky, but unless you hate those shaky motions, you can live with it ok till the end.
Kinda of a good chuckle once you see the whole thing...
Still I liked more concentrated story in the first 3, as well as harrison's act at his earlier days were better, than soon to be retired guy's act.
The plot wasn't much deep, only saw it once, but just a regular treasure hunting, just like the other ones in the series. The other actors weren't too notable either but no one was much notable in indie series than harrison anyway, so, nothing new there. (except indie dad in the 3rd one)
But still, it was directed by steven, so, there, still has his fun taste here and there. I figured the director matters so much for a film, than just who is playing it, like Terminator 3 being kind of a moron trying to be funny when its not supposed to be any funny. (Altho 'war of the worlds' was a nice screw up). Talking about war of the worlds, cloverfield was just like it but shot with a handcam, and mixed hl2 in real world.
cloverfield was a better remake of the war of the worlds theme then "war of the worlds"
"quarantine" is another movie like that , go and check it out . its not better then cloverfield but better then blair witch.
well i rewatched terminator 3 after i got hooked on Terminator TSCC . and i must admit it was awful . cheap copy of the first but then with enough new data to reboot the franchise.
i hope the 4th will be dark again like 1 and 2 . tbh it is the movie i have been aching to see ever since i saw those 5mins of flashback in the first movie .
i also expect another future , where they are wiser but the machines too . sure hope they don't frac this up like matrix 3
Aye Terminator 3 was lame, didnt like it much. I also see they are making a TV series using the Terminator franchise? Anyone know anymore about this?
Plus I dont see what peoples problems with the 3rd Matrix are :P Fair do's the first one was the best due to originality, but they needed to finish the story somehow.. and i think they did a reasonably good job doing so!
yeah they needed some way to tie the old franchise to the 3 new ones
terminator TSCC s he tv show i mentioned . it is so worth it to wartch . i admit you have to adjust to a few story manipulations the first 4-5 episodes but after that the show kicks in .
watch for b green from 90210 , he finally has a good char to play .
about matrix 3 , you gotsa be kidding me . after all those fights i expected some sort of grand finale not some lame deep semi budhistic mambo jambo
lol true, but common there were some epic fights already! And fair dos they were never going to live up to the first film, which was totally awesome.. (first time bullet time was used in a movie wasnt it?) But you are right the ending was quite hard to follow, as that bit with the Architect.. but take it with a pinch of salt :D
lol i know! its insane how confusing the animatrix is... there are some good ones though, such as the one that explains how the whole human-robot war began.. and then shows some siick fight scenes!
