since i am watching more movies lately then playing games i thought i would start a thread to discuss good movies we have seen . i am sorry but i am still looking for a killer RTS game that can hold my interest but i am sure they ll arrive in the near future . if the coh expansion is good i am gonna buy it but waiting till 2008 fo soase is way too long .

a few days ago i saw the movie "Outlaw" . its a realistic british action movie about a few good chaps who feel abadonned by the legal system . i can strongly recommend it although they act like stupid tossers when solving their problems . i haven't been so tempted to join in the action since i ve seen braveheart but its realism really impressed me .

dreamgirls , gasp yeah i loved that movie . i ve always had a thing for 60's soul music and since i saw the commitments i haven't seen such a good movie about music . it has beyoncé in it but she gets blown away by jennifer hudson the runner up in american idols . no doubt she deserved that oscar . i dont get goosebumps that often from music but this movie almost made me cry . not by the drama but just because the music is that good . mind u you must like soul music to enjoy it but if you do this is a must see movie

spiderman 3 , well i was like meh yet another threequel but i must admit this is a killer movie . far better then the second and with amazing gfx its like they combined spiderman 3-5 in a 2 hour movie . you wont be bored and the love story is reduced to the strict minimum . one weak thing is the obvious playback from the main female character but hey you wont go see his movie for the singing . mindless action but fun .

fantastic 4 -2- the silver surfer . yup yet another marvel movie but fun . bit humor but nothing special , switch your brain down low and just enjoy the show

transformers - wow gfx are brilliant . if you loved the cartoons you are gonna love this one . story has several WTF moments but if you dont mind a few loose ends at the end off the movie you ll enjoy this movie . damn the main female role is a beautifull lady although she is way to skinny . the transformers are very realistic but the story isnt . can hardly wait for the sequel .

the astronaut farmer - warm movie with a high family value . yes this is one for the guys who also want their wives/gf to join them in front of the TV . short stroy a nasa reject builds his own rocket to get into orbit but has to fight against society who doubts he can pull it off . the humor is brilliant in it and so is billy .

at a ertain point he has a meetifn with the faa to get permission to launch after the fbi almost arrests him for ordering 10 000 pounds of high grade rocket fuel .
they ask him "how can we be sure you arent building a WMD ?"
the farmer answers " because if i was builing a weapon of mass destrcution you wouldnt be able to find it " warm movie go see it

more later but feel free to add movies

Further comments.

Transformers was nice but some of it was just silly. I guess that was for the kids. The AutoBots were girlymen! The girls were WOW! It was funny how the humans actually had a fighting chance.

Spidy 3 was good. you said it all about the action.

I'm going to see Parry Otter this weekend. I love the Harry Potter books and movies. It is like Star Wars for me in that I see it and want my own wand to being the pwning. Star wars you want your own lightsaber.

1408 is a Stephen King adaption. John Cussack is a writer of reviews of haunted houses. 1408 is, "An evil f***ing room," as Samuel L Jackson's character says. It is a good flick to be perfectly honest. I didn't find it too scary.

TV series...
I am watching The 4400 right now. Interesting show. I would recommend it.
It is about 4400 people abducted from 1946 until 2001 and returned in 2004. Some have special powers. They are meant to change the world for a better future.

I got given the Babylon5 Ultimate Universe DVD boxset recently so I'm watching the whole B5 series atm.

Movies wise...

Die Hard 4 was ok good action shots but the indestructable John McClaine wears a bit thin.

Sunshine was pretty good right up until the very end, its almost like they re-shot it months later in a rush to finish it.

Pirates of the Caribbean 3 was a bit boring I thought, too much repetition.

dont bother going to see the last potter movie , it sux . really lame even for a kiddy movie .

2 hours getting ready for a fight and then poof was that it ????

if you are a fan maybe just mayb you ll like it but i thought it was more of the same with a ultra weak ending .

4400 however is finally getting better watched series 4 episode 5 and it shows improvement . seems agents from the future are comming to speed thingsup/sabotage in the next episodes . looking forward to the promisine epidemic and the abilities they ll gonna show ( like the first 5 mins of episode 1 series 4 )

1408 was like meh . not bad but maybe after seeing hellraiser i am a bit spoiled now .
oooooh funky room messing with your mind , so f***king what , do 2 tablets or acid or eat some dutch mushrooms and you ve experienced the movie yourself . big yawn , king is passé

can't wait for new episodes of jericho , disappointed it didnt get a single emmy nomination . sopranos is good but 15 c'mon get real .

soon as i have soon bandwith gain gonna start watching stargate atlantis , all 10 series and maybe supernatural series 2.

die hard 4 only seen part 1 so far but was pleasantly surprised , will watch part 2 this weekend .

i love sci f but somehow i never took to babylon 5 , maybe because they stopped airing after series 3 in belgium . loved the realisme of it but didnt have the patience to wait till the big battle came . maybe i ll buy the box one day but for now i rather rewatch Space above and beyond . damn shame they axed that series . note to self see if you can sign something to make them do a second series , after jericho i feel we as a audience can change things .

Spiderman 3 pissed me right off, Venom need way more air time and he died at the end?! I mean ?!?!

Heroes also pissed me off, it's like crack but rewards you with a weak ending to the season, I was sooo hoping for a kick ass fight between Sylar and Peter (i love the world) petrelli...

grrrr

Wicked film iv seen recently is Cinderella Man. Makes Rocky look like it was a home movie- great acting, great boxing scenes, great movie!

I agree with BBT on Pirates of the Caribbean, it kinda sucked. Same repetitive fight scenes and humour as the previous 2 films, with ALL the main characters from previous films in the same place. A bit too much for me i think.

With Harry Potter, i thought the film was ok, im just not much of a fan. I have read all the books, but by near the end i am like "i wish this book would just end already!" so that was kinda my view on the film aswell.

Still looking forward to Transformers, wanna see it at cinema though get the full experince :-D I also heard Rush Hour 3 is on the way, thats gonna be a "must see" aswell i think!

i do watch movies occasionally but nothing too fascinating lately.
and im no fan of potter (even tried to find out the story by going google lol), nor pirates of caribbean(the acting is ok, but, basically story is quite moot but so are other movies) or spider man(just dont know what i should like about it).

the new 007 (with early bond) was sorta ok, despite the public saying it sucked (at least my dad said so) it had ok actions here and there but it certainly had boring parts.

still checking out the 'inconvenient truth' thing, still about 30min from the start...

getting to older movies, but 'saw3' i really dont watch horrors as it doesnt bring me much entertainment, so, that was a bit fresh genre for me.

MI:3 took nearly the same route as star wars (considering first 3 episodes as a 'first episode')... first one, fantastic, second one... err, ? cheesy kunfu actions but thats all?, third one... yeah k... it was best when on first episode, sinks down on next, and comes back up slightly at the end. for that i guess matrix did a good job of not sinking too much on the second eiposode, but if matrix ended as only the first episode, it would've been a good history, but guys like money more than history. as soon as neo started flying, everything just looked dumb. (i could've forgiven neo flying for 2 seconds at the end of first episode)

who liked da vinci code? maybe someone who love reading novels might, but i just didnt get what was so cool.

im looking forward for bourne identity the third episode, one of the rare movie that just won't start sinking on the second episode...despite of the director's change.

and i heard someone is making terminator 4? ? sorry but whoever just made terminator franchise a boring movie should be hanged. the best thing T3 brought is, that the story actually goes to corrupt the earth like portraited in the first 2 movies instead of going 'oh yeah we beaten skynet before it blew up the earth! w00h00!' and ends like nothing ever happened. or, rather say, terminator story can't go anywhere if john saved the earth before earth turned into hell.

[to admin: nothing big, but i might from time to time want to type 'w t f' without turning into big images...if thats possible]

well i would like to read demon forums without registering but hey that also aint gonna happen .. just type what the F**k mmkay ???

da vinci code : if you have a little history background , yawn , boring , obvious and shite movie . glad i never read the freaking book

bourne indentity : i agree great series .check out "shooter" if you like that kind of movies two thumbs up . bourne identity meets sniper without the berrenger acting

matrix : i wish they could redo third movie , second was good in a way you could think about the parallel to reality . bit to much phylosopy in a short time with the guy in the end but i could get it after i watched it the second time . third part just sucked and kinda ruined the entire series for me .

pirates : meh once they went fanta i lost it . like the horatio hornblower series better tbh

i loved casino royale , especially if you ever watched the first attempt . its the most realistic bond movie so far and for once you get a little dept why bond is such a male chauvenist pig , he just protects himself from ever caring again . did you know the broke a world record with that car crash .

star wars well i loved them the last 3 where good to get the entire picture but still looking forward to episode 7 8 9 you ll see they ll make them although probably after lucas kicks the bucket . i smell the gold so its gonna ghappen . when vader tries his impossible jump it kinda felt like ad&d you could almost think the -5dexterity check he had to throw with his dice to make it .

rush hour 3 : i ll watch it but not really holding my breath

loved mission impossible the series but never finished watching 2 , didnt even bother to get 3 . ever tried standing up on a bike when its parked . well try shooting a gun and then standing on a bike and then have it moving . lost all credibility . plus i hate cruise since topgun. if he was my wingman i would have shot him myself . short stop with an attitude , in belgium we would have used him as a garden ornament ( google tuinkabouter )

since the wife doesnt like horror havent seen the saw series but ill keep that for a boring raining winter night .

havent seen cinderella man tbh didnt know it was about boxing lol , thought some freaky gay movie or disney flick , dont know whats worse loved million dollar baby tho . in fact havent come across a eastwood directed movie i didnt like . the guy has a better eye for directing then acting . since his western days i lost track . dirty harry wasnt much for me . do you feel lucky punk ???

terminator now there you are correct only good thing 3 did was telling us they didnt end it in 2 , looking forward to the movie i have been waiting all my life . man vs skynet , ever since i saw that short scene in 1 i wanted to watch that story . fyi the geniuses in belgium have called their adsl network skynet in fact i am connecting through skynet as we speak . guess they never heard of marketing overhere . mmm lets call us system the same name as the system that tries to terminate mankind , brilliant .

just discovered a british series called "life on mars" . kinda like CIS:londen the prequel (1973) . the more i see hollywood crap the more i enjoy british movies and series . outlaw and dog soldiers are still standing strong on top on my must see movies list

movie i look foward to seeing is the final Bourne movie "Ultimatum" Supremecy is very good as well... shows borne beginning to get pissed and in the third he just snaps!

transformers i absolutely loved because i grew up watching all the different tv series... alot of those loose ends i ended up filling in because of my extensive knowledge

harry potter was a let down at the end... the fight scenes are wicked cool.. TO SHORT THOUGH!!!!!! come on now!!! getting the 7th book sometime this week... its shipping tonite =)

i also would like to see live free or die hard... kinda missed it though... also what to see good luck chuck with dane cook which looks like a sit back and laugh your ass off kind of movie... there are others but i cant really think of them...

spidey 3 was all right but they should have done more with one villan or the other... not both!!!! ended up not doing enough!!!.... also another decent movie was license to wed... they had williams on a short teather and did not let him be creative which held back the movies potential yet he was still funny at times....

besides that i do not think i can remember any recent movies i have seen... getting knocked up as we speak

well, too bad demon forum has actually been down for some time, so i cant read it either

in phpbb i thought u could change the emoticon sign (from 'w t f' to ':w t f:') but dunno, who cares...

MI:3, its all cruise's fault for being like a psycho all the time, that just made the movie too tense, whereas first MI had a kind of relaxing moments etc...

T3 really lacked the raw machine ugly human face icon, which was 'the' icon for a terminator movie. using a girl for a terminator wasnt too impressive in any way. they should've at least used some sexier tactics to kill john if they came up with a female terminator or it won't make sense that machines made a terminator with female form. but maybe im just the girl obsessed here...

just another random older movie,

v for vendetta - even if it had weird feeling to the whole story, i felt it rather fine... but one is enough for these kinds for a while. nat was better in here than playing in sw imo.

-my random recommendation-

leon - talking about nat, if anyone hasnt seen this... you better.

transporter 1 & 2 - these are just action packed for brainless way of having fun. 1 was better imo.

24 escape - this probably wasnt any popular, but once again brainless way to enjoy. some good runs and actions.

poseidon - something like titanic, without the cheesy man/woman storyline replaced with more tense survival theme.

inside man - very story oriented, about a robbery working out his plan. its like reading a novel on screen. but story was ok.

air force one - played by our man harrison ford. story is well thought out and troubles come up one after another.

sahara - some random actors (from my point of view...) with random theme but it was somehow good. treasure recover theme.

mr mrs smith - ok, its cool, for one time.

- my uncool list -

aeon - sci fi makes it look cool, but thats the end of the story.

constantine - just coz its kianu (if thats how its spelt), its not always interesting.

flightplan - well... good try by jodi foster...but she wasnt enough to make a great movie. but still semi decent.

(damn, did belgium skynet take out my sig? [its got a red cross as of writing this])

I missed seeing '28 weeks later' I'd really like to see that on DVD release.

Saw 'Hot Fuzz' last night, its pretty good particularly after seeing films like Miami Vice & Die Hard. I think the funniest moment was this old lady cycling down the street with two automatic pistols doing a Jon Woo routine.

Superb film, I loved the scene where he turns round and says 'Whats the matter? Never taken a shortcut before?' then acrobatically vaults over the fences while Nick Frost jusr ploughs through them, also a take on a scene from Shaun of the Dead Also another classic.

My FAV films of all time.

in no order cos there are so many

1. The Shawshank Redemption. Very slick and sharp film.

2. The Crow. Has a cult following I believe, if you haven't heard of this film then you need to be shot. Brandon Lee's last.

3. Dune. But wow do you need to be alert when watching this.

4. LotR SE. Im a massive fan what can I say...

5. Cellular. low budget film that appeared from no-where which is very damn slick and fast.

6. Phonebooth. Another impossibly low budget film that gave me faith in colin farrel, must original film i've seen in years.

7. Spaceballs. Comedy classic.

8. Sahara. General bog standard action film but Steve Zahn is absolutely hilarious in this film, I bought this on dvd just because of his role.

9. Leon. Like Hideki said, just see this film don't argue just see it, you will not be dissapointed.

10. oops gotta go, will finish this later

not really a film, but if your into WW2 stuff Band of Brothers is a must see. More of a docu series. Its as realistic as Saving Private Ryan, but also with a realistic story line :D

Also if your into anime kinda films, Howls Moving Castle and Spirited Away i enjoyed alot. (Made by Studio Ghibli, like the far easts Disney?)

As for one of my favourite sci-fi films, it is either Aliens of The Fifth Element, which i thought was good because it is alot different from your usual sci fis.

superman returns : well he shouldnt have bothered

dead of a president : fictional documentary about the shooting of G.W bush , if you are into politics its a interesting view on things but everybody else should not bother

28 weeks later : if you like the first one you ll like this one . unrealistic but hey what zombie movie is . just for once i would like to see a intelligent movie in this genre , kinda like aliens was for the alien series .

andromeda ascendant : well i cant believe i never heard of it before , shame on yall who knew it and never mentioned it . i liked the star trek series and was pleasantly surprised good old gene made a new series . at first i was like oh noes not with "hercules" aka giant sorbo but he does a great job as capt hunt . not as good as the next generation at first but better then stargate atlantis . guess i am desperate for a sci fi series with a semi realistic view on things . since space : above and beyond i am a bit spoiled but after seen 25 episodes of andromeda i am liking the universe roddenberry created this time . the comparison with star trek isnt far off but this time humans arent the goodies like starfleet is . a darker universe , people get killed , plots and backstabbing , yeah i like this one . must see tv for trekkies .
special mention for the humor in this series . in the pilot one of the main chars says .
damn capt hunt looks like an ancient greek god of some kind . trust me i was . sorbo taking the piss out of his hercules char , pure gold .

the simpsons movie : well homer says it himself in the first 5 mins of the movie . why pay money for a movie you ve been seeing on tv for years . the movie aint bad and its humor is great but then again nothing special . its only 76mins long so you could say its just a episode but in double the time . the die hard fans will see several jokes pointing back to well known episodes ( like the one where homer drops down springfield gorge on barts skateboard and drops down it again after the ambulane crashes , in the movie you still see the the broken down ambulance parked against the tree ) matt groening at his best but not better then the tv shows

woot its the first of the next month , got me precious bandwidth back .

prisonbreak season 3 has started nicely . the first two episodes of it rock , way better then series 2 . south american prisons ftw

heroes season 2 : well i was kinda meh about "the big final" of series 1 but the first episode of season 2 looks very promising

to pass the time i ve been watching star trek enterprise , dont know why but quantum leap dude in a starfleet suit is better then expected . series 4 is really good even without shields and at warp 4 . yes another great addition to the star trek family . i am a trekkie since my early years , used to wait all week to see what kirk was up too . next gen simply rocked , gotta love the borg . capt janeway was my kind of gal and now the prequel is very interesting to see how it all came about . if you like other star trek series watch this

to close i recently discoverd an american sitcom named after the bbt . we all knew 3 men and a baby well this is 4 geeks and a lady . i lol several times watching the pilot .
somehow i imagine the short guy being bclaytz and the tall skinny one being Loc .
check it out you ll be pleasantly surprise for an american comedy .

war with the transporter dude and jet li is nice but not over the top . good story that compensates for the bad acting

the invasion with kidman . another podpeople rip off but entertaining . starts dark but then it gets hollywooded . if yur a sci fi nut like me check it out but dont expect nothing original .

man stomah ulcer is a bore , i am not allowed to program for the so called stress and tomorrow they are gonna shove a camera down my throat but i am free for game so give me a call .

well i am off to boldly watch what no belgian has seen before .

well i just watched aliens the extended version and man that movie still rocks .

if you see dune now or even the old star wars they are kinda outdated but aliens just stays "frosty" . 2.28hours of space marines vs aliens and i now get alot more that wasnt so clear after watching the theather version .

current tech has surpassed star trek movies , we already all have communicators that look way cooler then kirk's but the space marines in the seventies look alot like modern time high tech soldiers now

sometimes it looks like the developers of weaponssystems got their inspiration from that movie

if you are a fan of the alien series you MUST see the extended version
