Ok, I was just thinking...I dont have a clue what Cernunnos, Hideki, Raemon, Logan, Sandino, Blacksand, or a few other names mean from our clan and outside.
I thought why not ask. So I will start it off.
Mad Bomber. I started out as MidnightBomber since I couldn't fill in "Evil Midnight Bomber What Bombs at Midnight," a character from the cartoon The Tick, which I found outrageously hillarious. That is the origin of my gamer name.
My name was actually Inertialess before I shortened it (and then me and inR got confused a lot), and I got it off the "Inertialess drive" research option in Cataclysm. I though it sounded nifty.
i needed an nickname for Total Annihilation
scimitar was taken
so i thought up something in the line like prince did , the artist formerly known as prince , tafkap
so i thought The Artist Not Known as 0 ( zero being symbol for bolleke my rl nickname with the friends - it means a little ball and is used as a cute word lovers say to eachother - yup they used it to piss me off - it grew on me )
but bolleke sounds like bollock ( like loc recently discovered ) and i dont wanted to get known as bollock
so TANKA0 was born later on cut down to TANK0 because TA people thought i was a flashtank rusher
My 1st name online was Bricard.... Brick Hard as in hard as F**k, most people didn't get it but w/e it was just a name.
I changed it to Apocalypse in HW2 because I fell in love with the idea of the HMS-Apocalypse Battlecruiser (which HW2 players from my Era would remember it's precise usage) I've had the name ever since and see no reason to change it.
ah, lol, shows history that someone comes up with 'Tojo'.
Anyway, generally 'Hideki' is a typical first name for a Japanese, and yes it's my real name, so there's no trick hidden in here... I just find it, to get online nicks, a Japanese name was unique enough I could stay unique with this name, so I never bothered to find any alternative.
People start asking me if my name has anything to do with 'chobit', whatever it is, but I heard it's some sort of comic, but, no.
There's 'Hideki Matsui' in the american major baseball league, as an example.
HW2 was my first online Game, ok I played a bit Battlefront and VGA Planets,
And I didnt thought that will go that far, I just wanted to do a few, online HW matches ......
So I needed a new name, I was young and wanted to have a name that sounds "cool", but Im not creative in such things
So I ended in "Stardust" !!
In Homeworld lobby everybody was calling me Star and I liked it, so as I became a duck I ended in Star_duck.
But the REAL reason I like this name is because my very first word that I have spoken was "STAR" Not mum or dad....
For Quake 3 Arena I needed my first nickname, and I thought it had to sound very mighty and evil. From history lesson I knew the name 'Xerxes' and I liked it (at this time, I already had forgotten that Xerxes was an old persian king, that can be seen in the recent movie '300' *g*)
My other nickname - DarkHappyAffe - came from the Bundeswehr (my time in the army). A friend and I were in an inet-cafe and wanted to chat - we chose "Affe" (german for monkey), but this name already was assigned ot another one, instead they showed us a list with alternatives - DarkHappyAffe was in it ....
I think I started hw2 with DarkHappyAffe and baby-blue/pink colors. I liked the idea, that all the good players, i wanted to beat, were beaten by someone with baby-blue/pink colors!!! :-D
But for duCk-Clan, DarkHappyAffe was to long, so I switched back to Xerxes again.
As Tanko already said/posted, Cernunnos is a celtic god, god of nature.
I always had a slight tendency to like anything that has a mystical feeling all around it and a fable for the celtic culture.
Cernunnos means ''the horned one'' or also, ''the one with edges'' (hope I translated that correctly), and I somehow thought this suits me a little since I have (rough?) edges as well, many of them actually, which I even like to nurse and cultivate... -_-

Rolf, yea I guess I do like nurses with soft rounds -_-
What I originally meant though is something different, I think the right word must be ''edges'' instead of corners, in the sense of having some ''rough edges''.
