1.start xfire
2.select extra's -> options
3. use the direction arrow to the right to scroll to the mmmm duh right
4.next to games you ll find video(beta)
5.select it and make sure the option "enable video capture" is checked
6. select a map to put the movies in
7.select a combo to activate it - i checked and shift-P was free in Soase .
8. for editing purposes it very important we all choose the same settings to record movies - so far i went for 30fps - half size - no cursor and sound . the sound isn't really important because it will get cut in promo movies to add music to it . your choice if you don't record it the files are smaller .
9.go to the game and press the combo and record . try to use the option that hides the icons for a while ( just to the right from the zoom to cursor button )
10. once you are done press the combo again to stop recording
11.keep in mind this eats diskspace the example below is about 4 minutes and took 1.2GB of diskspace .
12.repeat untill you have all the footage
13.start virtualdub ( freeware video editing tool - http://www.virtualdub.org/download.html )
14 .in virtualdub -> file -> open video file -> select the movie you recorded
15.go to video -> make sure the mode is on full processing (standard)
16.go to video and select compression
17. i use the free xvid compression codec v1.0.1 ( http://www.xvid.org/ ) shows up as XviD MPEG-4 Codec
18.select it and press configure - the "target quantizer" should be on 2.0 or 4.0 (standard ) - this makes a 1.2GB movie into a 70MB avi movie !!!!
19.go to video -> filters -> add -> logo -> browse ( ... button ) -> select our logo ( http://tfl.elsven.com/gfx/avi_logo.jpg ) -> change nothing else but the opacity ( 60% ) and pick a spot where the logo should appear ( tip : use the preview button left bottom corner ) -> ok
20.in the output video screen (right) you should see the logo appear now .
21.file -> save as AVI -> type a name -> ok (plz pick a name that explains what it is - very helpfull when editing

)
22.once it has been processed ( 5 mins ) check the result in media player or something that can play the xvi codec . it should be smaller then 100MB
23.upload it to youtube and post it on forums

OR

23.give me a shout -> i ll give you a ftp adress and a personal pw to upload it to our domain .
24.either i use it for a promo movie or i upload it to my myspace account
25.i give you the url and or number ( to put in your forumprofile )

looks like alot of work but this is the dummies guide to video editing - do it once and its obvious the next time .

this should be the result . keep in mind half screen , captured with a nvidia 6200 , compressed by me and recompressed by myspace .
sorry for the shaky cam , still getting used to the zoom and reversed cam compared to hw2 ( yeah hard to adjust keep pressing f to focus too )
