Hey guys,

Just a quick note to let you know that I reinstalled hw2 earlier this week after a good year or more (had to even buy a new cd >.<).

Im trying to shake the rust, but I will no doubt fail. In any case, Ill see you in the lobby. Cant wait to get back into the game

hey black. nice to hear that your coming back. some still play homeworld 2 around these parts but most people have moved on to sins of a solar empire. i "found" my cd image that i made

since my cd cracked in half and i have to reinstall the game now. but when i dont have over 2 hours to play a game you may see me in the homeworld 2 lobby playing a quickie since sins takes forever to play =)

This was my first good 3v3 since Ive come back, and man was it epic. Im sure Ill get tons wrong, but Ill try to be as accurate as I can remember!

Well, it was 633's first game in a long long time, so as we started up the game, his chatter on ts was rather amusing. So vec went gravs and swarm, and I tried a good old double hyper torp. After intel, looked like Finger was going big, Mini going fighters and didnt know what Sire was doing. I actually managed to get in 4 torps before their gravs, and chased off fingers patches in the back positions. They didnt last long however, and we settled down to a slug match.

633 had an adv hyper cap in mind, and was about to go, when a large vayg frig fleet popped up at Vec's front position! 633 moved over some ions to combat it, and we saw finger and mini aggressively take the middle. Since we couldnt stop that at the time, we deicded to take out the vay frigs, since infiltrators in the mix were maxing vec worried. I sent some dds over and that was safe, for now. However, they now had the middle, and large swarms of lazers and lancers came in with a ton of torps and ions and bcs in the middle. We sent some dds and bcs at them in return, slugfest!

We had the worst of it however, with the match looking over for us at several points. Vec had some masterful emping on their swarm and started nibbling away at it, and I sent a cheeky dd and bc to their back patches, forcing almost all their ru opps to the middle. 633 had some nice big ion groups helping out, but still looked bad. I had a carrier on the far right flank taken out by lasers and lancers, with not much I could do.

After a while tho, we seemed to break the back of their main bc fleet and I had 3 dds in a prime location above their middle, when they saw a group of 15 or so torps. I was amongst them sharpish and took em out, and 633 and vec advanced with me. Suddenly became clear that min iwas a tad TOO aggressive and we managed to take out his ms and sy.

At this point Ihad virtually no colls, Vec had lost his flagship and had 1 coll, and 633 similar. We kept on pushing and eventually mini had hardly anything left and we took the middle and stole all the juicy salvage. Mini now gone, finger sent a NASTY bc to our rear and took out a butload of our ru opps that we had only just re-established. Eventually tho, we managed to push through and take em out.

Hell, the stats dont lie. 1 hour 15 game. I got 197 kills and lost 150. EVERYONE had over 100 kills, in a 3v3. Was pretty immense, and I thought we had died at least 3 times.

Very well played all, long may we have more games like this.

Ps. 633 is now open season. After we had won the middle, turns out he had a swarm docked. Vec assured me this has happened before. Please, all, rib him about this :D Much love.

hmm, the p5 i know... got bored of playing hw2 with both hands that he improved so quick that he could play it with a toe... while managing soase with hands... but oh well...

oh, i thought all baps are more interested for demons not on the losing side... (at least half are in and where are they...)

i talked to sky in eve and said he might install hw2 when he reinstalls windows, dunno when he does it though.

nice to see someone doing game report again =) omg did 633 crazy nub come back?
btw, black, if you're interested read here (actual vids) and make a game recording and us noobs can learn from the master himself

of course all the 3v3 that included me was never good for the black :D

LOL i hate to admit it but I've done the dock, where are my fighters tactic before. In fact it was on KW with P5y and I vs Black and Addy. We lost after a vgg with freaking bcs on KW. LOL! P5 said, "Where are your fighters?" Maddie, "No idea." P5, "Check your dock!" Talk about feeling like a bone-head.

just to let you know , after about a week in soase , this should be called homeworld 3 imho .

there is alot you can still micro , if you have the time . nothing static and since i recorded a few games the gfx are amazing , even on my nvidia 6200 .

i know the smacktalk remarks are intended to get us back in so i forgive all you oldskoolers but seriously guys , forget about hw2 for a couple of months and try this one .i doubt you ll return soon .

if you are looking for something like hw2 well then wait till hell freezes over or they sell the rights but this is far better then eaw . it's large , slower but has so much more diversity in research and strats . pitty it isn't 3d that would have rocked but ships don't stop moving although in all honousty the AI controlling you ships isn't ideal .

had a great time in COH

and yet there yall are still doing the hypertorps and stuff . it even sounds boring while i type it .

i made maps years ago to make it more fun and the onlly thing they said was add more rocks and that they where imba so i gave up .

i know what you mean by always returning since i have it too but fact is the 6 same old familiar faces and everyone knwing strats by heart is so yawn after a while .

have fun in good old hw2 maybe ill join you again when the halo mod arrives .

hey thats right your are squad leadership , why don't you set up a hw2 night for us vets to return ? for a few games and clanbonding i can withstand the urge to play soase

and to the anonymous TFL that didn't like it , don't be afraid we wont torture you to like it , i just want others to experience this great game

well i can understand but i am sure if we an get a minimum of 6 people willing to play that night you ll find others returning for a couple of games too .

so with the risk of sounding like a religious wackjob .

afterall we TFL are known for our miracle comebacks once in a while
