DirectX 10 cavaetsNow to be fair I have been enjoying Bioshock so much recently that I hadn't noticed this until I read up about it on some forums.DirectX 10 (for which you need Vista) does not support anti-aliasing atm. 
I bet that is why we are having to wait longer for Unreal 2007. Also as a side note for those that didn't know, Vista doesn't support EAX sound yet either 
I mean  is Microsoft playing at? Its like a super market that choosen to no longer sell cookies, but you cant buy them anywhere else either cos they have put the smaller shops out of business.

and valve is pissed that ms wont support dx10 on xp coz it'll take some long time till vista is main stream considering xp isnt like buggy winme which freezes up everyday, which leads to developers not really caring about dx10 as market share for using it is rather not too big for coming years. |

now people actually have to pay for a new license many people are keeping their trusted XP longer then forseen . vista offers no real advantage at a rediculous cost .
directX10 is the only leverage the M$ monopoly has but this means people will now simply won't buy the newest games . directX10 will be released for XP or some wizzkid will do it for them . they can't risk some linux version jumping in that market so they will cave . |

lol well then again they just may wait for the next release of windows within the next 2 years... i forget the code name for this one but apparently this is supposed to do everything windows vista was supposed to do... |

lol, how can next win os 'doesnt' do what vista can do... its getting worse than 'keep it look sexier without much to add but let them pay full price'.
and its coming in 2 years? no comment...-_- im sure people still buy newest games, since game devs have to make it compatible with older dx versions. but devs are pissed that much effort they put in whopping dx10 effect is only seen by a grasp of people. |

lol, now that i didn't know. since i never really used vista much. is on a core2duo laptop but i've got to tell ya. that my 2.4GHz with XP runs 10 times better than that laptop. costs more and has less to offer. seriously ppl are going down the drain pipe instead of up. all we need is that they start pulling something like that with the video cards aswell :/ then we really will go down. i'm still on my good old 2.4GHz lappy with XP and it runs cool. not to mention i'm now using a Media center skin and it looks cooler  .

ive been using this ms zune theme (link directly off from ms)... which aint too bad (looks kinda very similar), except wallpaper sux, so i use something else cooler. |
