Mobo: Asus P5B, P965, Socket-775, ATX, GbLAN, 6xSATAII, PCI-Ex16
ram: Corsair TWIN2X 6400 DDR2, 2048MB CL5 Kit w/two matched CM2X1024A-6400 Dimm's
and a E6400
According to CPUZ I got a mulitplier x6 and bus speed 266,9
But according to SIW my mulitplier is 8.
Hm my temps are also quite high...
Q: Is my e6400 @ 1601.1Ghz or @ 2135Ghz.
Q: Should I buy a CPU cooler for overclocking? _________________

So unless you have 'under-clocked it' which is quite possible from your motherboard BIOS I would say Cpu-Z is telling lies.
You need an advanced CPU cooler for high overclocks, you dont need one for modest overclocks e.g. expect up to 25% better results
Personally I would use one as they aren't that expensive.
Watercooling is best IF you get a quality setup.
For Air cooling you want to get either:

Yeah I just checked the bios and its @ 2133 MHz.
I just want to OC it to 2.664 Ghz. Gonne read some reviews of the Tuniq Tower 120. _________________

Ok im going for a Noctua NH-U12F
http://prisguide.hardware.no/product.php?productId=62385
Now when I remove the old boxed e6400 fan should just use the old thermal paste/ old+the new that came with the Noc or remove the old thermal paste and use the new paste that came with the Noc?
And how should I remove the old paste? with Arctic Silver ArtiClean 1 & 2 or somthing like that product? _________________

use the one recommended by the manufactors
not sure how to remove , wipe clean but be carefull , to much coolpaste will cause evil contact frying your cpu . products can help but since i never used the ones you mentionned i can't really give an advice
to few and bye bye comp
i wouldnt recommend you doing it if you haven't done it before . i ve seen students fry 3 expensive cpu's in 15 minutes when i worked for a comp store once .
ask someone who build comps , better to pay a compstore or ask a mate then paying for a new processor .
trust me i learned it the hard way . i had to buy my mate a new processor , thats why i now refuse to do it for anybody else

Well look if you are only aimng at 2.66Ghz you could spit on the CPU and it would still work
Technically the best solution is to clean the thermal compound off, 'lap' both surfaces of CPU & HS, then apply Artic Silver. _________________
