Yes I smurf. (don't have a SS btw)
This will probably be the first battle in a long while where I won. So it's a great comeback for me. :)
The teams were Me, Homeearth, and Chicago vs Dockette03, Black_Pearl, and bruticus(Xeno?).
Starting out, Homeearth and Chicago immediately discussed plans. That's a real good indication of smurfs. So they tell me to go swarm, naturally; I'm vaygr and they're not. Homeearth goes BCs 'cause he's good with them, and Chicago goes pulsars.
So limping on a leg of 14 collectors, I get scouts out, emp, and ACs with level 2. I have 2 scouts out there and 2 scouts at home, with six ACs. On a far patch I see a ru op and so I go for it. The collectors were still going back and forth because they didn't have a mobile refinery, and when I got there, 5 of em were lagging behind. EMP'd their asses and sic'd my ACs on them.
At this point Homeearth already has a shipyard. He begins BC research.
Meanwhile I start corvettes because I spotted frigates o'er there (from the Xeno). Anyways, I was wasting the majority of their resouce collectors (they had like 3 or 4 left) when suddenly the Xeno appeared next to Chicago. In addition, ints were finally chasing me down; I saw ints move across the map towards me.
So I withdraw my ACs back and come home with 6 weak ACs and 8 good ones. Ints supplied by the other team were also hammering on Chicago. The torp frigs that Xeno was pumping made his pulsars into scrap. So I send my 8 good ints to attack ints. I also build lasers immediately, going full lv2 armour. I transfer those 8 ACs to Chicago
Homeearth says BC production at 50%.
My ints were not doing so good; the Xeno fs and cc were right on top of each other, doing double damage. The ints were stretched thin, though, and I picked them off with EMP and ACs. As soon as I finished a majority of them off, I go for the carrier's frig mod. During this whole time I was managing my fighters to dock and go into the fray. The lasers, of which now I have about 4, were already eating frigs. The Xeno mistakenly switched to flaks because of the fighters, since all the pulsars died.
Chicago also built pulsars at this point.
With all my lasers out I target the carrier. I stop bothering the flaks 'cause I felt sorry for them and blew that cc up. Chicago suddenly comes up with a handful of pulsars and wipes out the rest of the flaks. I transfer my lasers to Homeearth when suddenly he says the bc is done.
That was the end of it. His bc tore through Xeno, hyperspaced around the middle into the base and killed everything. Only a small handful of frigates and interceptors lay in the middle. Chicago took em all out while I went back to the ru op early and got rid of em.
And I look around long enough to see 3 bcs and a DD hammering away on a full vaygr shipyard. GG.
LOL those are horrific stats! BlackPearl is a smurf but apparently had no support because 7 kills is nothing. LOL! Nice work for you though inert, supporting well. Are you still using the no grav well cloak tactic? It worked against the PSA so it might still work. TankO you remember that game? inert tried to get us killed!
This is from 2 and a half years ago Clay. I was on with TankO and inert playing against 3 PSA, 2 medium to low skill and one elite, at the time. Well I was the rear guy and TankO on meat shield with inert on the left as vagy. I was hyper torping to adv frigs and bc. this means im going for 10 cols at each spot in rear and 4 refs. I start steaming center and TankO is swarming to frigs and maybe dd. inert is on swarm to lasers. I check with TankO for grav protection and he says we are up. inert says nothing. At about 10-12 minutes the swarm is in our favor and ive got marines and ions with a bc underway. inert is moving his ms and cc center and all of a sudden a bc appears. I asked inert where his grav well was!!! I got a cloak he replies. MORON!!!! LOL! Well he cloaks and the bc gets its own cloak. Ive got some bombers from tankO and 2 marines above the bc. i took its top ion off and forced it to scuttle. This game was funny because inert said he didnt need a grav well! Had the enemy reconned a bit more they could have hypered that bc into inert's rear, raped his rus, hypered to my rear and killed a SY. That would have not been good.
This is not a tactic to do but to avoid. I call it the inert grav well tactic since his grav well seems to be inert.
it was a good game and it is a good thing to remember , get that grav .
later on grav sides too for angled dessies
use tab key to make the range visible , to check where you have uncovered area's go tactical . if you see grav mod on enemy ship compair your range of a gw to his position and you have a rough estimate where you need to jump clear off .
let a carrier get hyper and drop a shipyard , then make it move to the sides . by the time your destroyer comes out you can jump it from mothership to carrier and from carrier to enemy back base if they only graved front or center.
most noobs feel save with a grav in team so they don't keep the troops behind to cover resources .
key to the strat is hurt them more then you had costs to get it there .so keep the boimbers away from it . without fightercover you won't go anywhere in this game . 1 bc is countered by 3 skilled bombers EAZY (engines , top ions and send in marines from above = new bc for u or big pile of metal in middle of nowhere )
yeah iv played some 2v2s when its worked well, your tips have helped me alot! I have a good start ( i think lol ) but it takes me a while to get adv frigs as i usually pass my intis around to my allies alot lol.
