This is not fiction but a good story of one of Apoc's legendary confrontations with rival clans. In this case the rival clan was a well structured group called the Ninth Infantry.
First of all let me set you up with a few details.
I met this clan on a server called Aurora in a game called freelancer. freelancer is a space game much like Eve or elite but not as good. The game was good but for only so long, the longevity was increased by certain mods and servers dedicated to roleplaying, which Aurora was. There were many systems in this game (roughly 50) containing many planets, some of which held lucrative trading runs. One such system was held by the Ninth which claimed it as their own, which was allowed in the server rules.
I started a division in TLSC for this game and my story starts on the 1st day into this server.....
So there I am in my shiny transport ship doing a few trade runs to raise some money for my battleship I so desperately sought when I run into a 9th.Inf-Matt who promptly asks me for 5 million credits in tax..... That was the first mistake 9th made.
To which i politely told him to go get bent.
Matt did not take kindly to this and explained to me that his big warship was capable of ripping my tiny little cargo vessel to shreds in a matter of seconds.
To which I replied 'go for it'
So he did.
This did not please me so I went back to the system and confronted him again. 'That was not nice and but seeing as you don't know who I am, I'll forgive you this time, however, do that again and I'll make your life a little awkward' I said.
Matt, rather suicidely didn't heed my advice and blew me out of the sky once more.
Now here was a situation I was rather interested in, I could have kept this up all day long, but would have ultimately got no-where so I went for a different approach considering this was a roleplaying server, and lead a revolt against 9th.Matt consisting of several larger vessels and some pirates who toyed with Matt before taking his Battleship down.
Matt left the game.
A few days later a couple of TLSC eventually showed up including a very pissed Blacksand (a story therein) and we began to build up a fleet of warships to go toe to toe with 9th. Meanwhile I went on a diplomatic war against them spreading much received propaganda against them. Within a week they were the most hated clan on the server. They did not take well to this and sought many dirty tricks to get me, including a very bold attempt to get TLSC banned off the server. My diplomatic 'You got Owned!' skills got the better of them and started off quite the number of political/diplomatic/outright flame topics going, ALL of which I won with ease.
9th's numbers started to dwindle as they struggled against this new group which had a formidable leader (yes i deserve to blow my trumpet here) even resulting in their loss of their division leader and Lt.
By this point even Blacksand was becoming legendary with his daring and lets be honest here, fucking brutal hit and run tactics and general nastiness towards them, until the server banned him for something that was never proved.
In the end they came to me offering pacts of peace, some of which I accepted as a screen to yet more nastiness and ownage.
There final solution was to try and recruit me into their ranks to help them become more powerful in the server. I delightfully declined and 9th lost the will to play anymore and died out rather unspectaculary.
not sure but it was fun... i brought in my battle ship with nice shadow guns that black gave me and raped them... they were like WTF!??!?!?!?
twas so much fun those days =)

hehe those guys where shitting themselves , they owned the server and each clan was ready to follow the rules . then TLSC joined the server , they saw in a few days 20-30 people starting out on that server and noone was paying taxes .
since we all paid it forward and got the next new TLSC member to rise very quick they got nervous and tried to bully us . We where hunted by all but our best (blacksand , apocalypse) by then had gotten themselves the best of the best ships and could finally take them on in a fair fight .
fearing the worst the admin on the server banned blacksand for cheating . blacksand is simply to proud to cheat in order to beat the bastards so we refused to cintinue when all our time and effort could be destroyed by a admin that couldn't take the heat .
it was very intense.... i remember we had like 4 battleships vs 4 battleships with a bunch of smaller ships out on the outreaches.... if i recall we crushed em...
i wish though that if your ship got destroyed there was more consequences then just respawning on a planet

Look down the page until you see the link to the Alliance against TLSC by Thrain. It's a clip of a battle with roughly 6-7 heavy ships versus me by myself. I died more than they did but they were suprised by how much I cost them.
Not long after that vidoe was made they had the shock of their life when TLSC showed up in force and wiped the floor with them. Also note in the clip Thrain goes on about not telling them to shove their taxes or they will get us again then note he thanks about 4 clans for helping him do it. LOL
Was a nice gesture that clip actually, I did break the rules by killing one of their guys while he was undocking (this isn't allowed because when you undock in the game you have no control over your ship and have no shields so it's considered illegal) I did it cos I was pissed at him then I got jumped something rotten and they only got so many kills on me cos they dockraped me too but I just laughed it off and kept coming for them, if you look closely you can see one of them typing in the bottom left corner 'He keeps coming?!'
To be honest, I'm sorely tempted to go back and start another war with the clans there, I do miss the politic and diplomatic ownage I reaped on them. Only problem with the game is there is little penalty for dying, you simply respawn and carry on the fight.
Oh and if anyone is interested in joining me should I go back, the game can be found for free and needs no serial.
if need be i can be called for assitastance.... but i need serious start up cash cause i dont have the time to be working on the traidng =p but i will go in for the fighting

Funny story, I ended up joining 9th for a while after that entire fiasco, because my tactics and by then legendary hour duel with SilentEdge impressed the F**k out of them.
9th is now crossing into CoH, and they're begging me to come back.
